New Current Matched Pair of Reissue Genalex Gold Lion KT66 / 6L6 Vacuum Tubes

These are so close to the originals we could hardly tell the difference in both appearance and sound. Of course these are made in Russia and not England like the originals but that seems to be about the only difference. They really got this one right! The tube that created “The Bluesbreaker Tone.”  used in 50’s-60’s hi-fi favorites such as the Heathkit W-5M and many Leak amplifiers.

Testing and/or Matching

At VIVA TUBES, all of our customers get the same high standard of testing and matching. Some sellers charge more for premium matches but we believe all of our customers should get the same level of quality and service. 

Tubes are tested and/or matched at full operating voltage with regulated power supply on a Maxi Matcher tester for general mutual transconductance (Gm). In addition, power tubes are tested/matched by plate current (Ip) and preamp tubes are tested/matched by gain. Rectifier tubes will be tested for emissions on a calibrated military grade tube tester. 

Our goal is to match within 5% with an upper limit of 15% (15% is the industry limit to consider a set).

Hand written test data included.

Note that we do offer a few models which are tested & matched at the factory. They will be matched by the same parameters (Ip & Gm) but to the manufacturer's standards. Factory testing will be indicated in the item title and description.

    Transformed my Marshall

    Looking to come as close to the Beano tone as I can on my budget, I installed these in my Marshall Origin. While I don't pretend I now have a JTM45, these tubes have exceeded my expectations on getting into the Beano ballpark. These replaced the original EL34's, and a later set of 6CA7's. Richer, fuller, (and I know it's a cliche) more 3D sound. Love it! As always, very reasonable prices, fast shipping, and the best customer service in the business.
